Creating spaces where memories are made involves designing environments conducive to creating and preserving meaningful experiences. It’s about creating welcoming, comfortable, and inspiring environments. By paying attention to the needs of the people using a space, and considering their intended experiences, Kellie Haslam Designs creates truly memorable environments. Here’s how we do it.
1 | Comfort
Your family and friends are more likely to enjoy themselves and make memories when they feel comfortable. Designs that include inviting seating with cushions and throws and layered lighting to create just the right ambiance will help to foster a comfortable and inviting environment.
2 | Personalization
Spaces that feel unique and personalized can help create a sense of belonging and attachment. This can be achieved through custom decor, artwork, and other personal touches. Each of my designs is uniquely curated and highly personalized.
3 | Connection
Spaces that foster connections between people can help create meaningful memories. At Kellie Haslam Designs, we intentionally design areas that encourage conversation, collaboration, or shared experiences.
4 | Bringing the Outside Inside
Creating an interior connection to the exterior environment of your vacation home is a powerful element in creating memorable environments. A waterside cottage may feature colours and textures inspired by the lake and sand, while a slope-side chalet might be grounded by elements such as stone and wood. By paying close attention to sightlines and the placement of windows, visual connections to the exterior environment may be created throughout the space. As a bonus, bringing the outside in can also improve health and well-being.
